  • Help me decide between multivitamins

So I want to start taking something other than the generic multi at the store. I think I've narrowed it between http://www.sourcenaturals.com/products/GP1194/ and http://www.rainbowlight.com/Categori...e59afd2d9.html If I got the first I'd probably be taking it half strength because it's cost prohibitive for me otherwise.

Is it worth going with the first one for the B12 that is more easily absorbable and the other things such as DMAE and grape seed extract or the Rainbow one? The one thing that worried me about the Source Naturals one is that it does say it contains wheat/gluten and soy where Rainbow says theirs is natural.

Any thoughts on which one is better?

I think people who take multivitamins are nuts.

Mega dosing on a random selection of vitamins is not going to give you optimum health. Especially if the doses are based on RDA's for SAD eaters. Eating properly is a much better idea.

      agree with Tarlach

i think that if you're not clinically malnourished, there is no need for chemical weaponry - body is a complex system so you can either do yourself more harm than good

just eat good food but not much of it - i personally have big reservations regarding that CWism about "2000" cals a day

Mark's are ruled out because of price currently. There's no way I can swing $129/month.

I've kind of been wondering about this as well. Dr. Harris over at paleonu.com has a few good articles on why multivitamins and other certian supplements aren't really necesarry.

I take vitmain D, fish oil (omega 3's) and "natural calm" a calcium, magnesium, potassium, vit C supplement (I was getting leg cramps at nigth and this has seemed to help. Also helps with bowel issues and sleeping). I feel that I get all the other vitamins and minerals from all the veggies, berries and grass-fed meat that I eat. If i had the extra $$, I'd probably use Mark's supplements becuase I like supporting small businesses, and it'd be a good "just in case" kinda thing, but unfortuently I have no extra $$ at the moment!
