    • That is great news, not sure how I missed that when going through the list.

Has anyone tried it with tea instead of coffee?

      • I have been drinking tea and coffee with coconut oil for years. I will have to try it with butter or ghee.
One question, does it matter if this is caffeinated or not?

If you're going to drink coffee, don't go decaf. That stuff is so processed that you might as well be choking down some seed oil at the same time.

I've also been looking for a better source of non-moldy coffee. I do live in the Bay Area, which helps, but I don't want to drive up to Four Bullet in SF just to buy a few bags of coffee. If anybody has other ideas, please tell! For now, I am restocking at Sprouts with their organic coffees.

My husband's coffee shop uses Goshen organic coffee, made in Illinois/St. Louis. They do ship, and a wee bit pricey, but oh my god, I hadn't had real coffee before Goshen. Their "Bona Fide" is just like heaven. Goshen Coffee Company

If you live in the South Bay, this is as good as it gets. Awesome coffee. You can get it at Whole Foods, but it's fresher if you get it at their cafe.

Yeah. Not as good as with coffee, but still tasty.

Yep, I tried it with ghee, too (homemade ghee), and it was way grody. Try the unrefined virgin coconut oil, just half a tablespoon in a tumbler of good, dark coffee. It really does become delicious, I promise

I also learned that my french press (which I've been using for the past 2yrs) is most likely contributing to my HIGH LDL#s! yikes...this prompted me to run out and buy a drip machine in which I can use filters, and program it so I'll have fresh coffee when I wake up in the am...
Whoops Shijin, the filter ( or lack of it) contributes to high LDL? Maybe my Goldfilter is adding to mine, hmmm....

                      • I get my coffees online from www.coffeeam.com in Canton, GA. All of the coffees I've bought from them have been good and I think their prices are reasonable and they sell it in 1 or 5 pound bags. They roast their own coffee and package it fresh then ship it out.

yeah I was quite surprised...so I bought a regular drip coffee maker, got a gold filter & use paper filters w/it we'll see if things change... in reality I won't know if it was just the coffee or if it was just I fixed everything over the past 6mths w/the reset

                            • As I was reading these posts last week I really couldn't believe that coffee made like this would be good. I was even somewhat grossed out, but I just tried it this morning. I didn't do the whole 2 tbsp of both butter and coconut oil....I believe I used about 1 tbsp each and wow! it really was yummy! I did add a pinch of stevia because I need just a pinch. It really did look like a latte but tasted way better!!!!!!!!

So far I haven't eaten or wanted to eat anything since and it is already 11:30 and I am totally amazed!

Thanks everyone for sharing, if it wasn't for all the posts on this page saying so, I would have never tried it.

                              • First off - French press causing cholesterol probs...??

I have coffee with coconut oil a fair bit now, it has to be nice coconut oil! Tasty, but annoying when it solidifies in floating blobs (I have a cold house). Adding the butter disperses the blobs into finer bloblets, takes away some of the coconut taste... I have only ever stirred though, not cleaning a whole blender for one brew!
