  • What if You Have No Meat?

What to eat for the day if you have no meat or eggs in the house? Today I ate 1/2 sweet potato, a few handfuls of almonds, 2 apples, and a simple romaine salad. Were these good choices? What are?

Solution: plan your life better and make sure you have more meat.

I don't think this has ever actually happened to me. If it did, I would eat cheese I suppose. If I had no cheese, I would a) be sad and b) go to the damn grocery store.
Today I will: Eat food, not poison. Plan for success, not settle for failure. Live my real life, not a virtual one. Move and grow, not sit and die.

The absence of meat does not invalidate the nutrition of other PB foods.

Those all sound good to me. Peel your apple to cut down on indigestible fibers which linger around in your gut too long, getting fermented until the end of time. Don't eat too many raw nuts.

I'm with Uncephalized on this one. A day without meat is a day not worth getting out of bed for unless you're doing some IF.

I normally have 2 cans of tuna on days like that. I find that when protein is low I really struggle with hunger, hence the tuna. But CO by the spoonful works well too.

                Sounds good to me!

There is nothing anywhere that says you HAVE to eat meat or eggs every day right? Just eat good food. Some days you might only eat nuts, apples and salad. So? Maybe one day you do like I did this morning. The only thing I've had all day was 1/2 pound of ground turkey and 2 eggs. I was too lazy to cook anything else this morning. But it IS time to go make dinner. Finally getting hungry! Gonna have fish.... Maybe I should have some salad too?!

i dont know i guess i would be hungry all day, meat takes longer to break down, like 4hrs+? if u just ate veggies ur only be satisfied for like 2hrs at best. i cringe at this, im gonna go buy some jerky right now just in case this ever does happen.

Keep canned goods in stock - tuna, salmon, smoked oysters, sardines, curried tuna pouches from Trader Joe's, canned chicken.

Wow... geeze people. No meat, don't eat?

                              To the OP:

Yes, it sounds just fine. Sounds like a typical bad hunting day for Grok. I'm willing to bet our cave-cestors didn't always have a ready supply of meat and eggs on hand like we do today. Shoot, sometimes I find myself with too much month left at the end of the money. I understand not being able to go buy whatever you want, whenever you want. It sounds like a very good, clean-food day to me.

                              Thumbs up.
