  • Survival Week Part Trois- 1/18 to 1/22



    3rd week of a 3 week survival series.


    Time to really rough it out. Things aren't looking so good for Grok. Winter's coming and food is getting scarce.


    Guidelines:


    1) No alcohol, dairy, chocolate, or "treats."


    2) Carbs below 50.


    3) IF one meal per day.

    3b) Or try going Carnivore.


    4) Use only what you already have in your kitchen. No new groceries.


    How many can you follow? Can you take them all on at the same time? Can you survive?

          Ah count me in! It looks like it will be a good week of surviving and shredding 30-day Shred that is! No dairy, carbs under 50, IF 1 meal per day, no treats, no new grocies...no problem


          The no new groceries part is the best this week, it's expensive to buy enough food for company! Glad to be back to basics finally.

            i'm in! hopefully this week will be as good as my first! last week wasn't terrible but not my best!

            1)IF 2x breakfast

            2)keep my carbs under 50g

            3)no new groceries

            4)no wine, or chocolate


            TODAY:

            45min ashtanga yoga

            B: it's 9am and haven't eaten since 630pm, wasn't planning on IF'ing today but i might!

            L: greek yogurt, almonds, bloobs. BAS w/ albacore veggies and EVOO

            S: 2 HB eggs

            D: yellow and green squash "pasta noodles" with scallions, ginger and EVOO

            S2 if needed: small orange

              Ok, I'm in, w/ modifications.


              IF 2x this week (at least)

              Keep carbs under 100g a day

              No sugar in any of the 'natural' forms, even in dark chocolate (I will use stevia and fruit if I want sugar--I went overboard w/ dark chocolate recently and need to take a break!!!)

              No dried fruit (weakness


              Not sure what I'll be eating today, but planning to IF breakfast.

                Eats: deviled eggs, shephards pie, meatloaf, mashed broccoli


                The weekend was terrible. DH brought home a costco pizza and a sack of chips for the Charger's game. Nuff said.

                  Today's plan:


                  BLT salad


                  90 min yoga class


                  crockpot chicken with spicy italian sausage and bell peppers etc. Haven't really figured out what I'm going to chuck in there, but it'll be yummy!

                          Hahaha, oh FNW if you know that that's an Arrested Development reference...I don't know what, that would just be awesome.


                          Today was fine, had my cobb salad, then made almond butter and coconut bars and had some of each. Not terrible though I think I'm on a cobb salad kick, I could definitely eat a huge salad every day.


                          I'm about to do day 15 of 30-day Shred, halfway through! I might do pilates tonight also, since it's only 6:22 and I'm done for the day stuff-wise. Or I might just knit

                            B: IF

                            L: eggs w/ ghee and an apple w/ pb (I know it's not primal--ds has problems w/ many nuts so we do peanut butter here)

                            S: nuts/seeds w/ some coconut milk and stevia and a hard boiled egg and a tangerine (I went way overboard on an eating binge today when I was snacking! :/

                            D: steak w/ red potatoes and ghee


                            I'm letting go of my 'try to avoid tubers' thing for now...I'm sure I went over my planned carbs today as well. I'm going through some emotional stuff (dh job loss/job search stuff, possibly moving, me being crazy about all this stuff and I'm totally not being as diligent about anything (and feeling cravings to do some serious emotional eating...) I'm just going to do the best I can!!

                              L: 3 scrambled eggs, pumpkin & ginger soup.


                              D: 2 pork chops with onions, sweet potato. Apples in butter for dessert.


                              I was really needing some protein. Got beef liver thawing for tomorrow. Must find something new to do with it.
