This is the first time in my area I've Grass-Fed Heavy Cream @ the store (whole foods).
Although I was skeptical when it declared "our cows main diet is grass.."
So I emailed them with this:
I recently found your products at a local Whole Foods store, specifically the Heavy Cream (1) Pint.
Does this product come from cows that are 100% grass-fed through out their lives?
And they answered with this:
Thank you for inquiring about our products. During the spring, summer and early fall months the cows are 100% grass fed. In the winter months when grass is not as plentiful the cows still graze but in order to maintain a healthy body weight their diet does have to be supplemented. Their diet is supplemented with organic hay, organic haylage and a small amount of organic grain. The small amounts of grain typically consist of corn, oats and wheat mids. Please feel free to contact me with any further questions.
That SEEMs reasonable to me, someone who knows *0* about farming. And I'd imagine most farms within certain Latitude/Longitude have to do the same thing.
Whats the jury say?
