  • Is flavored water allowed?

    Hey....
I was just wondering if it's ok to use water flavoring packets in my water? I love water, but sometimes I get tired of just plain water

"Allowed"... Ughh. You're making it seem like MDA is your mother. Eat whatever the heck you want, there's no gun to your head. Eat junk food, go all out.

The changes YOU make in your life are proportional to YOUR own motivation. If you want to add some artificial flavor/sugar packets into your clean water then so be it. It's clearly not primal though.

What Bosnic said. But really, if you start just drinking water without any additives you'll learn that there's nothing like a glass of cold water with anything..I don't crave any other drinks anymore, and I've been Primal for something like 6 weeks.

        Exactly.

OP, instead of seeking permission, why don't you figure out what's in those flavour packets and then decide if it's something you want in your body?

Those packets are full of chemicals aka artificial sweetners..Do you want a nice cup of chemicals? I didn't think so..Try some lemon or lime squeezed into your water instead.

Or leave some herbs steeping in the water - mint or rosemary water is lovely.

Try flavoring it yourself, as someone already mentioned, lemon or lime work well...I always do lemon with a pinch of sea salt or a little stevia if you want lemonade. You could also mash a few frozen berries in it if you want a fruity flavor. The packets may be convenient, but they aren't worth it!

Good tip that I use sometimes is to drop some blackberries, blue berries, and some strawberries into the bottle water and shake it up (like u mean it!!! lol). You get a true natural berry flavored water. For a little more energy, put a drizzle of honey in there if need be.

I have some flavored water from time to time. It's not optimal but I like it. I even use a little stevia sometimes.

On a more regular basis, it's just plain water, carbonated water, or either with a little something natural like lemon slices.

I stopped all chemical sweeteners just a few days ago and I already feel better! My constipation (I was only going 2-3 times a week) seems to have vanished too!

Carbonated water with lime juice and a dash of sea salt is pretty nice.

So are teas of all kinds, herbal or regular, hot or iced, with or without cream (or butter in hot tea, which is delicious). Also coffee, as black as you can stand it. You get used to drinking black or nearly-black coffee very quickly, only a few days, and then everything else you drink tastes sweeter in comparison.

Which reminds me, now that the weather is cooling down, I want to try making buttered black tea with cinnamon. Sounds divine.
