How often would you be fasting? A lot of us here do a shorter daily fast of around 16 hours, and you can definitely still gain muscle. See Leangains.com for more info.
I think a 24 hour fast could work also. My fast is usually around 20 hours or so. But if you want to focus on muscle gain more than fat loss, it'd probably work better with a slightly shorter fast. My hours are just for convenience so I can eat when I'm at home.
