  • Best measure of cardiac health?

Alot of questions surrounding the lipid hypothesis, so I asked another poster in a different thread:

What, in your opinion, is the most useful measure(s) of cardiac health?

Interested in hearing the boards opinion.

docs in US might be horrible at treating diseases, but I think the diagnosis is pretty solid. I would imagine that a cardiologist would be able to asses your cardiac health after performing few tests and give you a pretty accurate evaluation. Also, I hear that it's the size of the cholesterol particles that matters and not the numbers.

I believe that blood pressure and low resting pulse are good indicators of cardiac health. I am not a doctor, but I would think that someone with 90+ heartbeats per minute at complete rest has some cardiac health issues. Same goes for high blood pressure.
