  • Beef tendon nutritious? Thoughts?

Ranch 99 has tendons on sale at 2.69/lb, and it can be my favorite cut of beef when I'm craving it. I was wondering if it has any nutrition, or if it's just a lot of empty protein, and if it's more worth it to buy something else per lb, like chicken livers.

It is delicious, especially in soup.
I'm not sure what "empty protein" is. It definitely provides things that will benefit you, but $2.69 seems high for a trash cut.

Is there such a thing as empty protein?

Well, more empty than the actual meat cuts. Usually tendon sells for $4.50/lb so I was wondering if I should buy it. But seems to me like it'll be more worth it to buy offal and regular meat, so I'll just pass on this sale for now I guess

          From Offalgood
OFFAL those parts of a meat animal which are used as food but which are not skeletal muscle
          Tendon is not skeletal muscle.

I thought offal was the general term for organ meat. XD

Offal is anything on the animal that is not muscle or bone. (organs/guts/eyeballs) ect.
