  • can you eat other Sausages other then bacon?

im not sure how bacon is made, but i doubt -each- brand is 100% primal.
i wanted to know, if we agree here that bacon is -god- can we also agree that other Sausages that are placed next to the bacon would be appropriate for out diet?
funny, but it seem that bacon is so god-like here, that little do you talk about the need for "primal" bacon, as if bacon is so primal nothing that being added to it can hurt it.
im sure there are those really over processed sausages that would be a no-no(like what?), but if we buy our meat from the deli on weight, and not packed chances are it will be less processes, no?
alot of delis has like 30-40 sausages, and there must be some more friendly then others for us.

what other sausages, other then bacon and Prosciutto can we buy and still stay mostly primal?
i think i decided, as to not go crazy, as the best thing for me to first go dairy/grains free, and ofcourse processed food/sugar free, yet be pretty liberal about it.
im trying to fight acne and mostly fibromyalgia, and i also know that sometime the little things dont hurt much yet people advise to avoid them as to not lust the bigger things.....
im not sure if its the best way to go, but i think i will handle it better.

Primal bacon is uncured. If the bacon is cured, either by nitrites or celery products (read: unregulated nitrites and nitrates), then it is processed food and should be treated like most other deli meats. I'll go for it on occasion, but it is definitely part of my 20%, so not everyday.

There's plenty of talk about the bad stuff that can be in bacon. If you can't find primal bacon you shouldn't buy it daily, correct. Just read the ingredients.

Applegate Farms has fabulous uncured bacon ("Sunday Bacon"). I got it at BJs, which made me weep for joy -- buying uncured bacon in bulk? Yes please.

As for sausage, I find there are quite a few decent ones out there -- not the standard stuff, definitely look for the minimally processed ones (usually they're vacuum sealed and you have to use them/freeze them within 3 days of opening.

Or Oklahoma. It's fun being primal/paleo/ancestral and living in a food desert. Makes for a nice challenge.

I just eat the freakin' bacon. I already eat ZERO grains, I'm not going to stress myself out and limit my options even further by nit-picking my bacon.

Uncured bacon is rare where I live, and this is the first mention I've seen of uncured being what the Primal/Paleo folks eat. Wow. That needs to be more visible as a caveat.

I think that cured bacon can fall into the "20" part of 80/20.
