  • Detox symptoms, or genuinely sick?

    Hi !

Recently I've started the Primal way of eating and went cold turkey.
No grains, no refined sugars, no processed soups, drinks, meats (etc)

After a few days I developed acne, then I became fatigued, muscle pains and my mind fogged up. My appetite reduced and my cravings for "carby foods" seemed to vanish. As the days progressed, I started to get a phlegm cough, then irritable and having anxiety. Then a few days later out of the blue, a full fledged cold takes hold of me,( sneasing almost nonstop, sweating etc) but only really lasted about a day and a half. For me colds don't usually go away that quickly. The coughing up phlegm is still persisting and now memory loss . It's hard to fall asleep due to the coughing and irritability. Also, just recently, ear pain!
I've stayed home from work for the last 2 days because I feel sensitive to stress.

So guys, what do you think? :/
Am I genuinely sick, or lacking nutrients, or detoxing?

I wouldn't want to have the doctor shove down antibiotics in me if my body was simply clearing out excess junk.

    Thanks!

Treat yourself to a smokin' hot shower. It should at least help alleviate some of the discomfort you're experiencing. I was hanging out in the steam room at my gym the other day and all the gunk in my nose bailed and my muscles got SOOOO relaxed. It was awesome.

                  Hm,
Should I be eating light meals so the body focuses on detoxing or should I eat as normal? ( Usually a big lovely Samon/Beef Steak for dinner )

Your body will detox on its own. Eat up your body still needs to learn to handle the shift in diet.

Yup, detox. It can help a lot to take a bath with either epsom salts, apple cider vinegar, or baking soda in it, or some combination of the 3.
