  • I did something bad and now im paying for it

This past Monday i worked out pretty hard, i did a round of Simplefit day 2 and then went to the park and did hill sprints. This by itself is not the problem, the problem is i decided to give the whole "carb refeed" thing a try.

after my workout on monday my wife had made some pumpkin bread and it smelled really good so i figured it would be ok to have some, it was really good. Then on tuesday they had doughnuts at work and I havent had a doughnut since May so i figured if I was already eating carbs i might as well have some. Then tuesday night for dinner the wife and I had pizza. Basically i ate nothing but carbs for like 24 hours, and not healthy carbs either. I dont think i did the whole carb refeed thing right but what can you do

anyways now 2 days later i think i am feeling the effects. im super tired, i feel like all my strength has been zapped, all my joints hurt, and i am super grumpy. basically i feel like how i used to feel pre-primal. do you guys think it was the wheat/flour carbs that are doing this to me or just the junk in general? whatever the cause i dont want it to happen again. lessen has definitely been learned

Grains + sugar != healthy carbs

Potatoes + squash + rice = carb refeed

    Donuts + Pizza = SAD

GTFO. You're on the wrong forum to spout lies like that.

You relapsed, now you must get back on the horse and go hard or go home.

I drink 20 beers on saturday and messed everything up, but today I am coming back to normal. It happens.

Either your sarcasm is a little over the top or you don't realize that != means 'does not equal'.

grok bad at math LOL. or logic. use simple words

well. carb refeed should only occur immediately after a heavy workout. (within the hour if you can manage it) and only using good starches. lol

well, you learned your lesson. just like alcoholic off the wagon, you need to get back on it

You're saying a stray exclamation mark modifies the '=' sign? News to me. Statement read aloud is almost the same with or without the exclamation mark. There is no previous encounter with a combination like '!=' so I reasoned it was an error. My apologies.

Uh, just for the record, and I think it's understood, but what you did is NOT a carb refeed, not by a long shot.
I used to seriously post here, now I prefer to troll.

!= doesnt work when you have words before it, only numbers.

Sugar != healthy, reads sugar! = healthy.

                        Use /= instead

Why would 'sugar != healthy' read 'sugar! = healthy'? It doesn't read that, at all, and it's not even close.

yeah, I would strongly recommend reading more about carb refeeds before you attempt another one.

Hey Mike, if it makes you feel any better, you've got some grouchy achy company. I had a few days of sub-optimal food choices and I've been a cranky, achy, fatigued grump for going on the 2nd day.
I was called to do a last minute replacement on a charter boat where I didn't have any control over what was provisioned since the chef did it and the crew basically gets what the crew gets. The charter guests were all ovo/lacto pescatarian so we all got to eat what they ate. Yay. Not.
