  • Nausea and Primal - The dos and don'ts.

    Im looking for some advice with handling a situation I fond myself in yesterday.

    I happened to drink a can of coconut cream on an empty stomach, and suffered for it the whole day. I drank it at 9am, and by 3 am then next morning, found myself sick to my stomach. I felt off during the day, but my the morning I had to remove what was making me ill. Every time I burped I could taste the coconut oil on my breath.

    At 3am, I grabbed some peppermint tea, added a little honey and started drinking. This allowed me to put enough fluid into my stomach to remove what was still in it. After all that I felt better, and finally went to sleep.

    What I want to know is what is the best and primal way to get back up to speed. Today I feel washed out, and almost hung over, as well as feeling exhausted on a cellular level.

    What should you drink? As I have been traveling, I have a gastrolight solution, but when I looked at the ingredients, a lot of what makes it up is glucose. This held me off taking it till I asked here.

    Your timely replies and advice would be appreciated.

    1 - Don't drink a full can of coconut cream - why would you ?

    2 - Make water you're main drink, I also drink peppermint teas and other herbal versions if I feel like it - I'd personally ditch the honey.

    Edit - It occurred to me that you are possibly trying to gain weight - hence your odd choice, but even so I'd still recommend bottled water and up your calories from meat, nuts and fruit.

      In fact, the opposite. Im trying to remove weight, but coconut cream is a new food for me.
      I agree, water is my main stable, but I was trying to get new sources of energy. I had a huge day, and therefor made the mistake.

      Any ideas on handling recovery?

        I am a fan of a powdered greens shake or liquid chlorophyll added to water when I am feeling off.

            I would recommend bone broth as it's easy on the stomach and nourishing.

              I am so craving broth of any kind... but at this time, I have no access to a kitchen

                No problem! Maybe you could get one of the less evil storebought kinds. Kitchen basics seems to be OK as far as having no bad ingredients: ..:: Kitchen Basics - Original Beef ::..

                Sure it wouldn't be as good as homemade, but mabye better than nothing.

                    Any kind of ginger is excellent for nausea... I recommend ginger tea (you can find it in teabags in health food stores, or just steep some cut-up ginger in boiling water.) If you're over the nausea/vomiting, then rehydrating is probably the most important thing.

                      I've been going through bouts of nausea lately. Ginger tea has helped quite a bit (I use Yogi brand). Other than that, I'm just sorta waiting for it to pass, and trying not to let it disrupt my day too much.
                      F, 44 years old, 111.8 lbs, 4 feet 11.5 inches (yes, that half inch matters!)
