  • When to eat potatoes.

    Hello

    I am a 150 pound male in good shape and decently low body fat. However, I sort of want to put on about 10 pounds of muscle and realize that adding potatoes to my diet may be the way to go.

    Should I consume them before/after a workout or does it really matter?

    Will adding some potatoes hinder my ability to get cut if I only do it on intense workout days?

    Eat them before and after your workouts. The starch will help provide energy to complete your workouts, and afterward, it'll help you recover. Eat as many as you'd like, but be sure to adjust your fat and protein intake accordingly. If weight gain is your goal, be sure to eat enough food. 3,000 - 3,500 calories a day is good starting point.

      To avoid fat gain and maximize muscle gain eat them after a workout. Don't put too much butter on them, or eat very much of any fats along with them. Carbs+fats=fat gain. Eat lots of good animal protein along with them too.

      Well-timed carbs may even help your ability to get cut. Check out leangains.
      Ye shall know them by their fruits.

          When to eat potatoes? For me only breakfast, lunch and/or dinner.

            Well i would say that Potatoes must be eaten but after work out . These will work for you . I personally think the best time to eat potatoes is Breakfast and Lunch .
