  • If you could only live in 6 foods, what would they be?

    It started with 10 last year... the question is now down to 6. I am decreasing it by 1 food every month. Yes, that means 1 food is coming soon. Be patient...

    Here is my list in order:

    1. wild alaskan king crab
    2. organic california avocado
    3. pastured raised chicken eggs with orange yolks
    4. locally grown west michigan strawberries
    5. organic spinach
    6. bone-in grass-fed sirloin steak (any steak really...)

    Nope, can't be done. I actually did live on about six foods for a long time (bran/flax cereal, cucumbers, green peppers, tomatoes, chicken, brown rice) and it was terrible. Granted, it wasn't a particularly healthy diet (well, by CW standards, but I know better now) but even so, too much repetition just grates on the soul. And once you start counting spices, herbs, aromatics, oils - noooo, no no no no no. I need my garlic, I need my twenty bazillion spices.

      We talking Paleo only or is everything fair game? Because to be honest, if I had to choose 6 favorite foods only a couple of them would be Paleo/Primal approved!
      I began this Primal journey on December 30th, 2009 and in that time I've lost over 125 LBS.

        avocado
        spinach
        eggs
        raspberries
        ice cream! (could be made with coconut milk, but who really cares ... it's ice cream!)

            Organic, Free Range Eggs
            Organic Chicken
            Organic Spinach
            Kerrygold Butter
            And I'd definetly sneak some dark chocolate in.

                But I can't make you a list because I wouldn't chose to live like that.

                    Lamb (shanks, chops, rack of)
                    Avocado's
                    Coconut (in any form)
                    Red Meat (in any form)
                    Red wine

                      People say I am on a "crazy" diet. What is so crazy about eating veggies, fruits, seafood and organ meats? Just because I don't eat whole wheat and processed food doesn't make my diet "crazy". Maybe everyone else with a SAD are the "crazy" ones for putting that junk in their system.
