    A lot of people say it's bunk. I think I'd like to believe that it's all so straightforward but I have my doubts. I'll look through it again the next time I'm at the bookstore.

      I think it's pretty interesting...I don't know my blood type, but according to what personality traits fit with what blood type, I'm a B. I think this may be my new experiment of the month.

        Thanks, that's useful to have. Well, looks like sugar and honey and all forms of sweetener are A-OK for me! As well as multiple 8 oz servings of juice daily. Colour me skeptical.


        edit: and apparently no one at all should be eating pork, bacon or ham

          The world biggest expert on lectins Dr. Arpad Pusztai stated that the only blood specific lectins are those founds in certain tropical flowers and tree barks.

          But edible food doesn't contain blood specific lectins.

          This would contradict d'adamo argument.


          Also I have read somewhere that it's not true (nor d'adamo can prove) that before agriculture there was only one blood type and the other ones came later.


          Another problem with the theory is that the ABO classification of blood types is actually an approximation and the most accepted ones for its semplicity, but there are other blood type classification system that actually recognize up to 30 different blood types.


          Still, no harm in trying.

            It's pseudoscience. Go over to WAPF, look in the book reviews, and see how they shred the premises.

              According to this I should eat bread and muffins daily...if that were true I'd be back to flatulence, PMS, and swollen belly.

                Its quite interesting but I'm still skeptical. Did you see mention on that site on the genotype type. You do a short questionnaire to see if you suit the blood type type diet or geno type diet.

                I'm blood type B+.

                    Stay away from the blood-type diet. Peter D'Adamo based it on circumstantial evidence and assumptions.


                    Many doctors, nutritionists, etc have examined the diet, and discovered that its foundation is completely lacking in concrete evidence and reproducible observations.


                    D'Adamo says that his theory is based on research started by his father and carried on by him during many years; unfortunately he doesn't seem to be able to present any hard scientific data. Instead he relies on a complicated and rather controversial set of assumptions about hereditary food sensitivities, and throws in a good amount of completely unproven and highly unorthodox science such as lectin theory.
