• Noodle?

    Was reading

this with Gary Taubes and stumbled on an add for

Miracle Noodle anyone know about this stuff or tried it?

I did a search on the forum and did not find anything so sorry if this is a re-post.

I don't know any more about them than what it says on the site, but I'd have to question eating something so obviously manmade, with no nutritional value at all. Especially when spaghetti squash is so fabulous!

That's strange....there was a thread here about a month or more ago on this topic. But thanks for checking before asking!

The bottom line is that it's a big polysaccharide, which is what most vegetable gums are. Lots of fiber, think metamucil. Someone here tried them and wasn't too impressed.

That was posted here a while back.

Does anyone know the name of that Japanese noodle made of something that's not grain??? Something posted it here a while back. I've been wanting to find it.

I'm with Sharonll on the processed man madeness squigging me out.

I love to make noodles out of portobello mushrooms. Just slice them thin and cook them in butter or coconut oil, and minced garlic. Perfect texture, holds sauce well, WAY better flavor than pasta.

@ Raphael S. I think crunchy sue eats the japanese seaweed noodle thingys.

Raphael, I believe you are referring to the shirataki noodle- http://www.shiratakinoodles.net/

I love all kinds of veggie noodles as well- carrot noodles-zuccini- spaghetti squash. However, I am not a fan of kelp noodles- the shirataki noodles scare me a bit I have to say.

                    Lulabelle, no.

I was thanking the OP for trying to find the info. So many new people don't even try to find answers, they are too lazy.

It's amazing how many people assume the worst instead of taking things at face value. Maybe I'm a bit sensitive after an episode last week. I had been taking photographs at the beach for an hour and was getting ready to leave. A cop blocked my car, asked for ID. Someone called the police claiming that I was taking pictures of kids (which is not illegal, BTW.) I showed him how to review my pictures, he did, and of course, no kiddie shots. Some fearful busybody presumed the worst. Me, protector of children, women, the disadvantaged.

I'm still pissed off, I guess. Thanks for listening.

Well, it would depend on if you think fiber is good or bad I would guess. And of course individual bodies have different tolerances.

As I explained, I guess I'm still upset at what happened to me and I guess you were nearby!
