  • white creamy spots in sweet potatoes.

    I've been preping up some sweet potatoes sfor a hash, and I have come across something I have never seen before cutting a sweet potatoe. White creamy like drops, which appear if I cut the potatoe in half or skin it. I checked the blades and it doesn't seem like they are covered in white. Also the potatoe itself is quite strucutally normal so its very odd. Not sure if I should throw it out or just cook it. I just want to confirm this isn't a dangerous fungus or bacterial growth.

    Totally normal.

    Just plain ol' sweet potato blood.

    Dunno what the real technical term for it is, but that's what I call it.

      No worries, just a bit of starch oozing out.

        That's good. Its looks really strange contrasted on a purple and a orange sweet potatoe.

          My first though was "worms." But, you'd probably have figured that out on your own, so I'm sure it's fine!
