  • protein in quantity of beef?

How much protein do you suppose is in a medium sized plate of shredded beef? It seems mostly fat free. I work in a restaurant and this is what I eat for lunch every day (one of the few primal foods there) - but I have no idea how much protein is in it, protein being my main concern (not getting enough that is). I don't trust the calorie counter websites, and I'm not sure of the exact amount of food either - just a medium sized plate.

You really ought to use one of the diet tracker web sites so you can build some familiarity with different foods, their macronutrient make up and portions. Mark said they use Fit Day. I use Daily Burn. Both are excellent and free. Calorie King is a great site if you just want to look up a particular food and it will calculate the amount you are eating.

To answer this question you would need to have an idea of how much food you are eating. A 3-4 oz serving is about the size of a deck of cards.

3-4 oz being a deck of cards seems unlikely because it's shredded, not like a hamburger. If I had to guess by weight I'd think it's around half a lb of meat. I did look up fitday and it gave me some different numbers, I'm not sure how accurate they are though. I was hoping one of my fellow primal.. people (primates?) might have a better idea than I do.

Use Fitday or www.nutriondata.com . The internet is your friend, use it.

Even the leanest beef is only about 65% protein.

Beef will be about 7 g of protein per ounce.

I know, but they don't even know how much let alone what cut. Shredded does not help. But my guess would be flank.

I don't know, what kind of car is it?

              umm... blue.
