    As I have settled into this PB lifestyle I have noticed that I have eliminated most veggies. It wasn't a conscious decision either I just eat mostly eggs, avocados, coconut milk, chicken, chicken livers, beef, beef livers, pork, bacon, pork cracklins, butter, and coconut oil. I probably eat brussel sprouts, spinach and/or salads 3 or 4 times a week. I feel great and have gotten very lean. I have energy for my workouts as well. If I remember correctly Taubes stated that we don't need veggies as a source of nutrients. I don't dislike veggies I have just steered away from them for some reason. Has this happened to anyone else after going primal? Does anyone here see a problem with this way of eating??

    I wouldn't recommend going off them completely for extended periods. I'm 4 days into a meat only experiment & feeling pretty miserable. Counting the days until I add veggies back in!

      I eat slightly more veggies than you (maybe just 1 cup per day), but I eat similarly. As long as you are eating a variety of foods and some organ meats, you will get most of your micronutrients. I would add some fish, bone broth and/or gelatin, just to be complete.

      I also take Vitamin D and magnesium because it's impossible for me to get enough of either through diet (or sun!) at the moment.

        Well you are at least eating lots of organ meats. Some of the vitamins many of us get from veg isn't found in muscle meat. I'm not sure how much the cooking affects them, though.

          I have noticed the moving away from veggie thing recently for me as well. I have been doing this for about 4 months now and I used to eat between 10 - 12 servings of veggies per day. Now it's about 1 - 6 depending on what I feel like. I have no "side effects" or anything and it's actually pretty nice not worrying about what veggie to add when eating.
          People too weak to follow their own dreams will always try to discourage others.

            I'm only a month into this and my fridge looks like I'm a vegetarian. I'm not, but I've never eaten this many veggies, and enjoyed them wholeheartedly, in my entire life.

            I've even eaten swiss chard and spaghetti squash this week, and liked them. Never had them before.

              I'm right there with you. Been naturally shunning vegetables since starting primal and I don't feel any worse for it. I do take vitamins and mineral supplements though to make sure I get what I need. I figure when sticking mainly to protein and fat gets old I can mix it up with some greens and brightly colored veggies.

                Glad to see that I am not the only one. I forgot to mention that I also eat tuna and sardines as well as a daily multi vitamin. I get plenty of sun as well so there is my D. I just find it strange and actually kind of cool where this PB lifestyle is taking my eating habits; I love it! As mentioned above, when the protein and fat get a little played out, I do throw some fibrous veggies in there, it is just not happening that often. Thanks for the great feedback Grokers!

                  I do this from time to time, ill go extended periods of time eating just meat...lots of meat. I call it my lion diet, ill just put a huge hunk of meat and eat it with my hands, and then mate with my pride of lionesses.

                    Awesome.

                        i go in cycles as well. for a while i eat nothing but meat and some of the "other" starts to creep up: cottage cheese, greek yogurt, berries, 85% chocolate, almonds...then i begin gaining weight and begin eating a lot of greens again (3-5 c per day before cooking) in the form of curly leaf kale, swiss or rainbow chard, and salads. i start losing weight again, and have more energy. then, for some reason, the greens no longer appeal to me and i'm back at the beginning of the circle. *shrug*
