  • Help!! Anything I can do if exposed to the stomach flu??

    Any advice for fighting it off? Any vitamins or minerals particularly helpful??

    Most of my family is sick with the flu right now, and what I've been doing is eating a lot of rich bone broth based soup, and focusing on rest. I haven't gotten sick yet (knock on wood). My mom always tells me to take echinacea and goldenseal too, but I usually don't.

      Obviously making sure you have a nice, healthy immune system is key. You can boost this with probiotics.

      Just with eating right and having good gut flora, I've managed to avoid pretty much all the illnesses that invade my workplace. I work with a bunch of guys that have kids, and they're not really big on washing their hands, and we all touch the same stuff repeatedly... so there's always a cold or flu, or somebody puking. Except me.

          take oil of oregano as soon as exposed to it and continue to take it for the week.

                  Use coconut products, especially coconut oil. The lauric acid found in coconut is antiviral and antibacterial. Drink kombucha tea in moderate amounts. Eat SMALL amounts of raw honey if you feel it's necessary. Avoid overeating "stressful" foods (dark chocolate, coffee, dairy, nuts, etc).
