  • Cream cheese plus ... ?

So, I'm wondering what to eat with cream cheese. Used to be, I'd spread it on crackers, but that's out. I could eat the cream cheese by itself, but it's not terribly exciting. Any ideas?

I've made these with cream or goat cheese, prefer the latter but either way is good.

What is that? Bacon-wrapped...? Also, I was thinking more quick snack type things.

You can whip up cream cheese with any spices you like and use it as a dip or spread. I spread freshly sliced cucumbers and celery with it all of the time or make little veggie towers with layers of cream cheese between them. Those require something sturdy as a base, like a slice of cucumber and you can get creative and use whatever veggies you have on hand. Sliced ham with cream cheese and dill pickles wrapped up (very similar to above) is a go-to snack. My favorite use for cream cheese is however: cheesecake cups with either a nut crust or no crust at all.

I eat cream cheese with canned fish (usually salmon). Stole the idea from philadelphia sushi rolls.

I have been putting a couple of spoonfuls of cream cheese into my eggs while I'm scrambling them. They come out extra rich.

I haven't thought about eating cream cheese ...what kind do you buy? Seems it would have a lot of extra "stuff" in it.
