  • Will Lemon Juice Stop a Fast?

Every morning I take the juice of half a lemon and squeeze it in warm water in a rocks glass and drink it first thing when I wake up. It helps with excessive mucus production and is a liver cleanser. I want to experiment with IF to lose BF since I have been at a 3 month plateau. Will this stop a fast or is not enough to worry about?

    Thanks!

It'll stop a fast long enough to burn the few calories the juice contains.
You lousy kids! Get off my savannah!

Anecdotally citric acid can 'appear' to shut down 'ketosis' (ie turning a ketostik pink) during v. low carbing.

Interesting. I've been pretty steadily in ketosis and my beverage of choice is carbonated water with lemon slices floating in it. Maybe I'm just not getting enough citric acid from that to make a difference. There's probably a lot more in sweet drinks I guess. The only indulgence I've had so far that knocks me out of ketosis is wine. *sigh*
