• Decent Low-carb Beers?

I know, it sounds like an oxymoron. But maybe there is some brand out there that is not that terrible.

I just did some research on my fav beers and their carb content can be massive. There must be hope out there for us regular beer drinkers

Oh god, the idea of going to a pub and ordering Michelob Ultra makes me cringe... I have to get over my prejudices and try it though. The alcohol content is not great but the carbs are very low. Thanks for the advice.

I thought cruel and unusual punishment was banned under your Constitution?

As a proper ale enthusiast it actually pains me to write this but here we go, Amstel light might be worth a taste. Normal Amstel is pretty good but haven't tried the low-carb light version.

              Thanks, Sassa.

That being said, if there aren't Heinekens in the fridge when the Boy comes over...I get that "hurt puppy" look. He wouldn't drink a Michelob if there was a gun to his head ;-)

                Ehhhh

If I'm going to drink something that tastes like water, I might as well save myself the calories and actually drink water...

I figure if you're going to indulge on something that is bad for you, you better actually enjoy it, otherwise, don't bother indulging because then it's just a waste

I will agree with a good ale when it calls for it. Downtown Seattle, we have a bar (used in "Sleepless in Seattle" actually!) and they have chilled mugs, straight from the freezer, with several ales on tap. Would I go there and order a Michelob Ultra? NO WAY!

But, sometimes, I am just 'fiending' for a beer.

If you are after lowest carb, it's ULTRA. Sorry, thems the facts.

There is a web page that lists alcohol, carbs, and calories of virtually all beers available in the US.

Don't be a snob, ULTRA dark is OK. I'm not going to ever say great, but OK. If you don't want to drink ULTRA for ego or purist reasons, you will ingest more carbs.

I just order a real beer, and keep them few and far between. :P But I guess I am a beer snob. American beers, most of them, taste awful.

We get Corona Light every now and then, although we're an IPA household at heart. The lights have 5g carb per bottle, and it's not so much that they taste better than the Ultras - they have a hint of flavor period. Add some lime and salt the top of the bottle like a margarita for some much needed extra flavor.

Or...you could just get a Stone IPA. The gargoyle on the bottle is an effective devil on my shoulder. It feels good to listen to him sometimes - especially with cooler weather coming in the northwest.

Have I mentioned how good looking my husband is? I'm sooooooo lucky.

it's a tough season for this conversation. Oktoberfest is my most favoritest style of beer.

It's grandma, but you can call me sir.
