  • High school ,Kestosis and Bad breath

So I'm a 17 senoir in high school and have been honestly 95% percent primal for the past 2 months. However I've come across a problem. When I do my lower carb days or IF I do get that bad breath that is associated with Kestosis. Being in a High School with 3000 kids with lots of close social interaction makes the situation really bad. Me stepping away from people during convos, turning my head away from there face when I'm talking
So I was wondering are there any primal ways to solve bad breath or my situation. My resources are Whole foods and trader Joe's which I go to weekly and I think there's a florist near my house. If I absolutely have to use gum what are the better kinds and are there specific ingridients I should try to avoid?

Drink lemon water, eat fresh parsley, you can also get parsley oil capsules, liquid chlorophyll (flavored or not) in water works as well.

Try oil pulling. I've noticed that "not so fresh feeling" at times with primal. OP makes my mouth feel so much better. Take a tablespoon of coconut oil and swish in your mouth for up to twenty minutes and then spit it in the garbage (unless your dad is a plumber). I OP during my shower. Try to "pull" it through your teeth. It is great for your gums, whitens your teeth and my breath is always so much better after it. Be sure and brush well after.

My gums are a nightmare and it really helps keep them in shape.

So why do you need to do such low carb days or IF in the first place? You're 17, I don't think that model was especially written for someone like you. Do you have so much weight to lose, or are you doing that just because you think being Primal you're supposed to? (Not necessarily at all.)

Bad breath shouldn't really be a requisite on a clean diet. I have not noticed bad breath, infact my mouth feels cleaner than it used to even without brushing. Very strange. It does make me wonder when the paleo 'community' are often complaining about bad breath.

How about growing your own mint and chewing on the leaves.

Why so low carb? Are you trying to lose weight? Carbs are not unhealthy, eat more of them.
