  • 30 days of primal eating



    For the next 30 days, I'm attempting to go purely primal. In the past, I'd use any excuse to get out of the challenge. Hopefully, this time, it'll be different. Also, hopefully, my understanding of "primal eating" is accurate with everyone else.


    Over the next 30 days, I'll attempt to do the following:


    1. No drinking milk (no more GOMAD supplementing my diet)

    2. No refined carbs (i'll get all of my carbs from natural sources. I'll also try to limit my intake of high GI fruits)

    3. No soft drinks or any drinks containing sugar...even coffee with sweetener.

    4. No artificial sweeteners (i.e., diet sodas, coffee creamers, etc...)

    5. More to follow over the course of the 30 days.

          Thanks for the encouragement. Two days have gone by and i've been pretty good. I've been tracking my food with fitday. 28 days to go.

            Your list is the easy stuff.


            I'll be very impressed if in a month you can say, "I didn't eat any tubers and kept my carbs under 20 a day."


            Of course, having said that, if you are on "maintenance" and not weight loss, that's a whole 'nudder story.

              My hardest is "Play more" and "Get a full night's sleep".


              If I sleep enough, I don't have time to workout and vice versa :-(

                  I guess I should have said fruit, people have a harder time minimizing fruit than spuds or sweet spuds. Some of the Primally Approved foods are really hard to keep minimal, that's what I was trying to say.

                    Meh, guess everyone's different. I don't even think about tubers at all....and fruit IS primal.


                    that being said the only fruit I really eat are avocados.

                          *cough* here - I haven't had any sugar, potatoes, grain, pasta, rice in about three months. Result so far: No weight gain, no weight loss, but the tape measure shows the results, and also I've gone down 2% body fat. My waist has shrunk 2 inches and I can see the outline of my abs in the "right light".


                          Keep on grokking and you will see the results.


                          And Jag - keep up the good work, you can do it!

                          Sometimes you need to be told the truth in order to be able to see it.
