I know someone with an old head injury. She lost her sense of taste. She still likes bacon. LOL

I like how both responses are related to brain damage lmao. And no ice cream or chocolate either? God, I hope she's brain damaged.

I like the -idea- of bacon, but I've yet to try any that's not disgustingly salty. I love the crunch and the fact that you can use the fat to cook the rest of your meal, but the taste leaves a ton to be desired for me. Of course, I can only get cheapass conventional bacon, so maybe that's the problem. Next week I'll be making a trip to trader joe's/whole foods, so I'll try to find 'good' bacon there and reassess my opinion.

I wouldn't cry if I was told I couldn't have it for the rest of my life. Heck, if someone here sends me a check for a hundred bucks, I'll swear off it immediately.

Only a hundred? That's impressive. And to Enamel--my family buys Trader Joe's turkey bacon, and I don't find it to be much different from other bacon.

admittedly, i'm not wild about bacon by itself (i could take it or leave it, really), but i'm absolutely in love with how it can add flavor to other things. kale by itself...meh. kale with bacon...holy balls is that good. and that goes for so many other foods too.

The single biggest reason I even tried primal is because of the bacon!

I'm with you, take it or leave it. I like the smell... Sometimes. But not when it sinks into my clothes, it's good wrapped around things.

skip the turkey bacon for starters.

                          Try thick cut.

And cook it on low heat. Most people cook the bacon on too high of a heat and it makes it too crispy and too salty (it intensifies the salt flavor).

Also, I like some of the natural cured because there is lest salty flavor.

I had a bad experience with bacon when I was younger. Cannot do it. I hate it when the Partner cooks it up; it smells like ammonia to me

cook it slower. You really got to take your time to make good bacon. If you can't get it tasty in a skillet look up some directions for cooking it in the oven. Once or twice I've gotten my bacon cooked so that it literally melts in my mouth. Its incredible. I'm thinking you might be overcooking it or cooking it too fast. Its taken me a long time (months) to get my bacon cooked just right, and I still think I've got a long way to go.
