  • I think this is bad!!!!

    Hi all,

    So ive been back on the Primal Band wagon so to speak. The only think I am finding with eating the fat is that I am craving lost of meat and fat? Is this normal on this diet? I mean the last week I have mainly been eating meat and eggs.

    The last week this seems to be the pattern

    7am> Breakfast = 3 egg Omlette with coconut oil or butter in the pan. Throw in some onions, bell pepper and mushroom. maybe some hot sauce or sour cream but not as a regular thing. Sometimes breakfast is nothing as I am not hungry.

    lunch> Salad with some type of meat and a drizzle of oil. Either coconut, peanut or olive oil.

    Dinner> Sometimes its just meat and no veggies. I have been making my own chicken wings and marinated chicken thighs and its been very tasty indeed!!!

    So i guess the question is, is it normal to feel really full eating this much fat? And then be craving more meat and fats?

    I still have a sweet tooth and Sometimes i mix up low calorie Jello (Jelly in Australia) and then mix it up with a large dollop of double whipped cream. I know mark doesn't recommend artificial sweeteners but just this large diet change is a major thing so im taking it slow to make it a lifetime deal!!!

    I think it's normal to crave critter. Grok sure did! My problem is ever since starting PB, I've craved more BEEF. As in "Go halter a cow, show it a picture of an oven, and then bring it to me!". Snarf.

      Everything you listed is normal and healthy except for jello! I think it's funny that you are keeping jello in you diet just to "not make too big a change" - what health benefits do you think the jello is providing? But it sounds exactly right to me, sounds like you are doing just fine. I am perfectly happy eating a big piece of cow sometimes with little or no veg, though I like my veg.

        I think you're doing okay. I just question the peanut oil and the jello.

        But you should try and incorporate some more veggies, probably. Especially caretenoid-high ones, because it's summer where you are! Think carrots, sweet potatoes, tomatoes...or whatever you want! Veggies are really important for maintaining micronutrient levels so if you skimp on those you could run into other issues longterm. But, I don't know what's in your salad so it really might not be an issue.
        I don't own a scale and don't care to!

          You are getting your veggies at breakfast and lunch, so why worry?

            I'd skip the peanut oil and jello. Eat more veggies!

            When I want a pudding type treat I use Greek yogurt.

            175g (3/4 cup) Greek yogurt, plain
            15g (3 Tbsp) Cocoa powder
            1/8 tsp stevia concentrate powder (or other sweetener to your taste)

            Put the cocoa and stevia in a bowl. Add a Tbsp of water and mix until combined. You may need to add another Tbsp but do so gradually. Once it is all mixed well add yogurt. This is good just like this but you can also freeze in in molds for a great tasting fudgesicle. If you can't get Greek yogurt you can use regular plain yogurt.

              Peanut oil is very rare unless its a stir fry. 80% of the time its cocnut then 20% EVOO. thanks for clearing tat up

                Peanut oil is very rare unless its a stir fry. 80% of the time its coconut then 20% EVOO. thanks for clearing that up. Its just a guilt pleasure and the taste buds still love that sweet taste

                  Sometimes at lunch its just meat aswell. Like a can of salmon and avocado or can of tuna with olive oil. Its only since Ive got back to the high fat/ Protein have i craved more fat and protein.. lol... Go figure
