    Okay, so we're supposed to try to limit PUFAs, right? What about MUFAs & Saturated? Those should be high, right? Saturated coming from good stuff like avocados and coconut oil. Just wanting to get my facts straight.

    My opinion is to limit omega 6 as it is typically over consumed especially when eating a highly processed diet. Most people eat 10-20:1 to omega 3 when it should be about 1:1.

    MUFA's and SAT'S are the good guys as are omega 3 which is a PUFA.

        We do need some omega 6. The problem is most people get too many and they are an inflammatory fat. Most packaged foods use cheap omega 6 fats such as soybean, corn or canola oil etc.

          If you take an omega supplement just take omega 3. You don't need to supplement omega 9 and you already know about omega 6. The body can make omega 9 and can also be obtained with foods like olive oil or avocado.

            I try to stick with only natural animal fats (lard, tallow, duck fat, cod liver) and some coconut oil. Numerous accounts of indigenous people eating upwards of 80% animal protein and fat have turned me away from processed oils. I am skeptical of olive oil as it is still a processed oil and only use it sparingly. I feel the relatively low percentage of fat in most vegetables is like that for a reason, and do not want to put concentrated amounts in my body.
