    What are your thoughts on this? Why are people so anti low-carb? It seems like the concept of insulin = fat storage is pretty straight forward... so why so much debate and controversy?

    Also, if that was 3 years ago... what the hell is taking the medical community so long to grasp this?

    The biggest obstacle IMHO is getting over the idea that eating fat causes heart disease. That concept is set in stone in most peoples' minds.

      I've heard Dr Oz state he has used low carb.

      But what actually is low carb? Depends on who you ask. I think a proper definition would be wise.

      I also think a big part of the problem lies with the Atkins diet where people still make the assumption that low carb means living on bacon, eggs, cheese, steak and butter with some pork rinds for dessert.

        Man, that sound like heaven to me! (And actually not far from what I do eat...!)

        My definitions:
        VLC (Very Low Carb) less than 50 g/carbs per day
        LC (Low Carb) 50-100 g/carb/day

          No veggies or fruit dragonfly?

          I eat about 75-100g a day after the fiber is deducted. I consider that low to low moderate.

              I checked it out. I see some.

              When I first started controlling my carbs I had to reduce my veggie intake and no fruit because I ate more than the plan allowed. It was a long two weeks and I couldn't add them back as slow as I was told too.
