  • Eghhh ... cold ... help ...

I've been eating primally for some time now, but I still get colds quite often during the winter (in the summer, I'm fine). In fact, right now I'm sniffing away. I really need some tips to try to not get sick ... it REALLY is annoying and I feel like I'm doing everything to try to avoid it, but it still happens! I eat my vitamins, have supplements, sleep right ... Help!!
feel free to take a look at my journal!

How's your vitamin D level? since starting 5000 IU/day (based on the 1000 IU/25 pounds bodyweight rough rule of thumb), I've had barely one virus - and I had a weak version of it.

Wash your hands? Stop touching your eyes and nose?

Those two things right there will limit your exposure to any excess viral load. Your immune system should be up to taking on the rest.

Basically the same here. Usually though I resist colds, but since becoming pregnant my immune system turned to shit. The best suggestions I can give are what Yaish gave. Keep your hands away from your eyes and mouth, and avoid touching and sharing too much.

I know it's super carby, but it's all natural (so I reckon it might be Primal worthy), but when I feel the ol' gambu coming on, I spring for a Bolthouse Farms C-Boost smoothie. It's 1200% vitamin c, and made entirely of fruit (8 servings in every bottle). I recognize and can pronounce every ingredient on the label. Maybe look into it? It doesn't hurt that it tastes terrific!

Chicken soup. Cook with ginger and cabbage, taro/potatoes if you do those, black pepper.
