  • For those who don't eat fruit, do you eat coconut?

I know coconut is technically a drupe, but I wondered if non fruit eaters still coconut/coconut products? I feel like over the past few weeks my body has started craving sugar, so I'm going a week with no fruit or sweeteners, and I was wondering if I should give up coconut as well. Which led me to wondering what other people do!

Two fruits I can never get enough of- avocados and coconuts. Throw some fish in there and I'm happy for the rest of my life.

Diana, you need to move to the Philippines. Or Mexico. Or... well, you get the point Me, I hope I'll be able to make it across the country for Boarfest, that sounds absolutely awesome.

Yup. Avocados and coconuts are cool. Berries, too occasionally. Just keep those bags of sugar away from me! (anything else...)

Count me in for a seat on the avocado and coconut love boat. Both are awesome. Also, the combo of 1/4 cup frozen blueberries + 1 tbsp of coconut milk = bloody awesome [infrequent] dessert.

I'm currently avoiding fruit, but I still drink coconut milk if I feel like it.

Yes. The reason I'm (temporarily) off fruit is because I'm on a Candida diet, but the coconut is SO healing for candidiasis.

LOVE coconut, and avocado's. Not speaking with ANY authority here, but I think the fatty fruits, save for banana's are okay...No insulin spikes. Again, so not authoritating, just in my personal experience, give me some fat and fiber and we good!

I would love to move someplace like that. Someplace warm and tropical. Maybe a nice island somewhere. *daydream*

It would be fantastic if you could make it to Boarfest! It's for a good cause too! We're raising money for Heifer International.

i think the concern about fruit is the sugar and blood sugar spike that they cause. coconuts don't really do this (arguably the coconut water would, but not the meat).

fwiw, bananas are virtually fat free. a medium banana contains less than one gram of fat.
