  • How long should it take to see the benefits of taking a supplement?

    I've been taking biotin 5mg, which is high potency once a day, and silica 500mg one to two times a day for one month now. My nails are still thin and weak, my hair is still fine, fragile and thinning.

    I figured if they didn't help the hair issue, they would at least strengthen my nails. Is it possible that they just don't work for me? Is a month not long enough to see some sign of improvement? Could it be that I am so deficient in these two nutrients that its going to take a while to see any benefit?

    I've read reviews of these supplements where people say they've seen improvement as early as a week.

    Any opinions?
