  • Slimfast Shake Replacements plox

So, I'm trying to get my girlfriend to go more primal, and she's interested. She has a shit job, though, and doesn't have time for a decent breakfast before she leaves (takes her time to be able to eat solid food). She's tried some slim fast shakes, but they're all carbs, and she despises how she crashes.

We're both wondering if there are anything like the shakes (a liquidy breakfast) that's full of fat, rather than carbs?

Thanks in advance for any help we get.

How about a coconut milk based smoothie, might take some experimentation to get it too her tastes, or skip breakfast and have a bigger meal the night before or a bigger lunch that day, or if she really wants a ready made shake type meal replacement drink I've heard some guy in malibu sells one called primal fuel :-)

It's a little ironic that an ad for Primal Fuel is right beside your post But yeah, a coconut smoothie or just skip breakfast. Or if it doesn't have to be liquid, there are tons of other portable foods that would work.

=P I was under the impression that Primal Fuel was more protein based, rather than fat. I'll definitely look more into it.

It has 9 gr. of fat....mix it with some coconut milk and that should be more than enough...

You might try smoothies with some whey protein powder (especially if sweetened with stevia -- I get mine at Whole Foods) with coconut milk and some ice. I have a "Magic Bullet" (as seen on TV!) which is perfect for smoothies.... throw everything in the cup, blend it up, then take the cup with you and drink it on your way to work.

A few berries is a nice addition to the vanilla powder, and the chocolate powder with almond extract or 1/2 banana is awesome! And you can always up the fat by mixing in a nice spoonful of coconut oil.

You could also just cook and refrigerate some bacon and have some hard-boiled eggs on hand. Grab a strip or two of bacon and an egg and you're out the door. That's all of 15 seconds.

Coconut milk, as said. Breakfast is not strictly necessary, either, I have found.

Edit: I would rather fast than eat some whey frankenshake.

Whip up some egg yolks in coconut milk, at most.

She doesn't have to eat it, but it's her only real meal for her shift. And she's not so great at fasting yet.

I second the protein shakes. Add coconut milk, egg and berries.

I like the shaker cups that have the little wire mixing ball in them to keep the powder compltely in solution. I got mine at Vitamin Shoppe.
