  • Wild Shrimp or Farm Raised Trout?

I know wild is always better, the trout should be fattier, right?

Yeah, I'd like to know too. Wild seafood is so darn expensive! Where I live a pound of Wild Sockeye Salmon costs about $12-15 a pound. Not to derail the thread. What about farm-raised cat-fish?

I wouldn't eat any farm-raised fish unless the source was certified. Read this and this.

I would only eat wild. Besides, shrimp is delicious.

I to vote "wild only." I won't touch farmed fish. I'd rather have farmed beef than farmed fish.

Well, I know of a restaurant here in California that serves farm raised trout from Idaho that is absolutely to die for - tastes just like someone pulled it in off the line that day - but it is the way the trout is raised that makes it special. The farmer replicated the trouts natural habitat and food sources. I would eat this farm raised trout before wild any day. But that is the exception. I agree with wild over farmed any day.
