    So. I'm pretty new to this, and I think I know the answer to my own question...but I figured I'd just ask anyways.

    I've always looked down on ground beef (because I always figured they used the shittiest parts of the cow), but if my ground beef is 100% grassfed than I can eat it every night right? Basically organic/free range chickens are super expensive, grassfed anything other than ground beef is out of budget right now pretty much...BUT I can definitely afford my local store's 100% grassfed ground.

    So yeah, basically my question is: it'd be better to eat grassfed ground beef every night instead of conventional steaks/chicken/turkey/etc right?

    In short my opinion is yes. Whether that's a fact or not I can't say. I do believe in eating some variety, but if you're trying to really stay away from conventional ish then yeah, ground beef would be fine just make sure you think of a few different ways to prepare it so you're not bored. Find some pastured poultry and stuff so you're not always eating the same thing.

      If it's a good cow, there's no such thing as the "shittiest parts". There may be stuff that's less tender, but when it's all ground up I find the difference minimal. You can always grind your own chuck.

      But yes, you do need variety. I don't see you mention fish anywhere.

        If I lived by myslelf the only meat I would eat is grass fed ground beef

        Cheapest way to get the beef, and easily the most versatile also.

            absolutely. if you can afford the grassfed ground stuff, go for it!

              One of the things primal has changed for me is the way I look at meat. It's not "prime" vs "shitty", it's the whole animal that our ancestors would have eaten one way or the other down to the bones. For example, the taste of oxtail is amazing compared to the taste of filet mignon!

                thanks guys. of course i'll throw in the occasional wild fish/organic turkey, but for the most part i'll be eating ground beef prepared every way imaginable...and i'll love it!

                  The major problem traditionally with ground beef is the absolutely horrid regulation (or more specifically lack thereof) of the major ground beef suppliers. It's a very corrupt industry with very poor inspection, safety, and cross contamination policies. The majority of supermarkets are technically unable to test the safety levels of their incoming ground beef because if they do they will lose their "right" to purchase from one of the major suppliers (there's only about 3 or so). If you're dealing with some grass fed ground beef however you're most likely not looking at the same omaha/cargill suppliers though and it's probably miles ahead of the regular stuff in safety.
