  • Primal confessional....

I need to confess, last night I went off the deep end. F

2 pieces of chocolate birthday cake
Numerous canndy corns and pumpkin candy
    A deep fried chicken/cheese sandwich
Chipotle (w/ sour cream and cheese) then dinner afterwards.... (yes, that's right.)

Result: 2.6 pounds heavier than yesterday! oh and bad gas........ Back on track today though!

It happens to the best of us (well, maybe not Griff.) Get back on the horse and ride off towards the sunset.
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, steak in one hand, chocolate in the other, yelling "Holy F***, What a Ride!"

No bid deal dude. As long as you don't beat yourself up about it but understand that it wasn't the wisest thing to do you'll be alright.
I used to seriously post here, now I prefer to troll.

Once in a while. How do you feel the day after? I had a shot of bitters (had sugar added) and some wine and it kept me up all night and I feel like SH****T.

YOU SUCK! GET OFF PRIMAL FOREVER! YOU ARE NOT WORTHY!

Is that what you want to hear? Do you want to hear that it's no big deal? That a slip every now and then won't hurt? What's the point in posting this? Do you need absolution? This ain't no church. Suck it up and make your resolutions privately. You're the one who's responsible, not us.

Nothing personal, but these threads irk me to no end.

It happens. Hopefully you'll feel like you've been hit by a truck, so you will be less likely to do this again. It can be a good thing in that sense. Perspective.

Yup, we all have those days. Yesterday I successfully ruined brownies for myself.

I was sitting at the coffee house, eyeballing the big fudgy brownies. I'd been wanting one for weeks but I wouldn't give in. Yesterday I gave in and bought one. It was incredibly sweet, but didn't have the rich chocolate flavor I hoped for. Then the sugar rush hit and I felt sick, like I'd eaten 3 hot fudge sundaes. I really just wanted to puke and get it over with.

I don't think I'll ever want another brownie again. I've now ruined brownies, hot fudge sundaes and Reese's PB cups.

I was a bad boy yesterday too - I had a slice of pizza and some chicken parmesan (breaded!). Life will go on, I'm confident.
I do feel sorry for people for whom this is a hard rollercoaster-willpower thing though. I just enjoy it almost all the time. And salty breaded food doesn't ever really taste as good as you think it will.
If you are new to the PB - please ignore ALL of this stuff, until you've read the book, or at least http://www.marksdailyapple.com/primal-blueprint-101/ and this (personal fave): http://www.archevore.com/get-started/

haha, no I don't feel like I need to be redeamed by the PB community, Grumpy. To be honest, I was bored at school and decided to opine about last night's mishappenings.

My life is made easier by the fact I would have felt nauseous after the first slice of chocolate birthday cake. When I 'cheat' I feel it almost immediately... makes it very easy to hardly ever eat non-primal stuff.

If I cheat with rice or something of that nature, it's not too bad. But last night my stomach was tumbling and turning, ugh.... Felt it a bit this morning too. But now that I've worked out I feel loads better.

*grin* The thing is, I have an advantage over most people - I get immediate and painful reactions to eating things I shouldn't eat. Most people here don't have that advantage. I'm not a paragon; I'm just allergic to a lot of things that are temptations, and I know from experience that the pain is absolutely debilitating and never worth the momentary pleasure. A lot of people think it's willpower... it really isn't. It's fear.
Primal eating in a nutshell: If you are hungry, eat Primal food until you are satisfied (not stuffed). Then stop. Wait until you're hungry again. Repeat.
