  • Narrowing down possible causes of acne ...

Ok, I've began supplementing vitamin d, magnesium, vitamin b complex, fish oil, and multivitamin every day. I think that it's helping a bit, but there's still some flareups. I think the reason is because of my excessive eating of nuts -- I probably have about 5-6 full handfuls each day, maybe even more. I've decided to cut down on nuts, or just eliminate it for a week or two and see what happens.

Does anyone have suggestions for replacements? I eat nuts as my snacks from time to time and part of my meals. Is there a good replacement that fills me up and also tastes decently good? Thanks!

    (Preferably some with low sugar)

Have you tried zinc? I remember reading that zinc deficiency causes acne.
Using low lectin/nightshade free primal to control autoimmune arthritis. (And lost 50 lbs along the way )

i get it as part of my multivitamin, not a whole ton but enough. i don't think that it's vitamin deficiency to be honest, i'm just taking vitamin b to help cool it down a bit. it's mostly food i think.

oh good...justthought I'd mention it because that seems to be a common response when anyone asks about acne.

For replacement - how about coconut?

Inflammation can cause acne, so too many nuts could certainly be causing you problems. Instead of snack replacements, breaking out of the habit of needing to be eating all the time (which is psychological) is better.

Also, I recommend this often, if you can swim in salt water. It will really help clear your skin up. And it is also good for your hair.
