  • Very interesting little quiz about what "type" you are.

I stumbled across this site and took the quiz -- turns out the symptoms and such are very similar to what my irregularities usually are.

Have you guys heard of this before?

I'm a "Pitta" ... so I have a huge list of foods that I should and shouldn't eat. I'm thinking about perhaps listening to this, it might help my acne.

    Looking forward to some feedback!

"[Pittas] should also avoid excessively oily food or fried foods as well as caffeine, alcohol, red meat, hot spices, or salt, choosing instead to eat fresh fruits and vegetables and whole grains."

Ummm....... riiiiiiiight. The whole eating grains and ditching caffeine thing is so not happening.

haha. well you don't have to follow EVERYTHING on the list, it's just a general guideline.

Sigh. Well i guess you guys aren't going to take this into consideration. I am. I won't add grains and such but I'm going to heed the list that they say to avoid.

Hmm. I found the quiz difficult to complete. At least half the questions made me ask, "What if none of these apply to me?" A few others offered ridiculously subjective choices like "I put on weight like most people."

I forged through, however, and learned that I am also a Pitta.

                Somebody pass me the steak.

Ayurveda is a wonderful system of medicine. It has been working well for Indians since just about forever. I am glad that I am not Indian, because under the ayurvedic system I would be an early statistic. Dead before my feet hit the ground.

Why? I am pitta and I ain't gonna live that way.

My wife tells me that I didn't need to take the test. I just should have asked her. She spells it differently though--PITA---and it stands for 'pain in the ass'.

Nutritional advice from a school of medicine from a country that is mostly vegetarian for religious reasons (historically) and practical reasons (contemporarily -- too many poor Indians and not enough meat to go around). It's like your horoscope. Amusing when you think it applies to you, but shouldn't be taken seriously.

Stupid quiz. It just tells you what you already know. I'm vata (hi malpaz and tara). Of course I like hot food, of course I hate the cold, of course I need a routine or I get nothing done. If I didn't already know that then I wouldn't have been able to answer the quiz questions.

I love ayurvedic spices, and use them all the time...

But I'm a "Pitta" too, and I see no need to balance it out with anything. I LIKE being fire-y...it suits me well
