There is no risk of toxicity from iodine. Dr. Brownstein recommends 100 mg a day for people who are suffering iodine deficiency disease such as cancer, Fibrocystic Breast Disease, PCOS, uterus problems, prostate problems.
Prior to WWII iodine used to be a major medicine used in dosages up to 1 gram. See the History of Iodine:
For daily maintenance to overcome the toxins we live with - Bromide, Fluoride, & Chlorine Dr. Brownstein recommends 50mg a day. If you can carefully avoid fluoride in water, bromide (breads) & chlorine, he says you can reduce the iodine dosage to 12.5 mg a day. We swim in a sea of these toxins, and they displace iodine from our cells.
Iodine deficiencies & dosages
Any excess iodine not used in our body goes out in the urine. Even while doing this, the iodine prevents UTI pain by killing virus & germs. I take 50mg a day with required co-supplements.
The toxins to be concerned about are the fluoride, bromide & chlorine that comes flowing out of our cells as iodine displaces toxins. Too much iodine too soon can send more toxins into the bloodstream than the liver & kidneys can handle, resulting in detox symptoms.
