  • Percentages

I apologize if this has been asked before but what is a good percentage ratio to aim for in terms of car, protein, fat? Obviously the number of carbs per person are unique and depend on activity. But what percentages should we aim for while being primal?

    Seriously though...

    Set Carbs 0-150g
    Set Protein .8-1.5g/lbs LBM
Set Fat for balance of calories depending on goals.

Let percentages fall where they may.

Because I'm so carbophobic (and being a Type II diabetic gives me good reason to be) I shoot for 70-80% fat and the rest protein, with minimal (under 50g/day) carbs.
Primal eating in a nutshell: If you are hungry, eat Primal food until you are satisfied (not stuffed). Then stop. Wait until you're hungry again. Repeat.

Corn isn't a vegetable anyway, it's a grain. You can count on any fruit that isn't heavily fibrous (read here: berries) to be higher carbs than you'll want to eat. Try adjusting those ratios and you will probably see better results. Good luck!

There are no perfect ratios. I never count calories, or grams. The food I choose to eat are based on how nutritious they are (as many nutrients and vitamins as possible).

I use the 50/50 rule to ensure I get everything I need. At the end of the day, I would say I am getting something like 60% fat, 30% protein, 10% carbs... But then again, I never count. My weight is stable and my bodycomp is always changing for the better.

Damn tricky foods. I ate at bosten market and got a half of a chicken + corn & greenbeans . . I also went out to the produce stand and bought a buncha fruit but didnt realise how many carbs are in them Ya live ya learn.
