  • Blood Results

Been lurking here for a bit now. Finally decided to sign up.

Anyways I had my bloods done so I could use as a baseline. Not looking so good at the moment.

Diet for these results was mainly meats, fat, small amounts of fruit and veg. Too many indulgences e.g. cakes, breads and the like.
Not much exercise going on either.

176cm tall and weighing in at 77kegs. Lean looking body composition.

    Trigs - 145
    Total Chol - 282
    HDL - 45
    LDL -207
    ratio -4.6

So for the next 6 weeks I will be sticking to fats, meats, veg and fruit in that order. Also will introduce walking and surfing back into the mix. Next round of bloods will be end of July.

Will keep posted for those who are interested.

I know that D affects a lot of our immunity and body function and a lack of can contribute to various autoimmune issues....but can anyone explain the vit D/ cholesterol connection?

Cholesterol is a precursor of vitamin D. Our bodies, under action of sunlight, work to make vitamin D from cholesterol.

That isn't the only reason for cholesterol.

Not quite sure that I understand.....you are saying that we need dietary cholesterol to make vit D? How does a D deficit impact this posters cholesterol reading?

Yeah, your ratios are a tad high, but I'd say cutting out the non-Primal foodlike substances will help. Get those trigs down and that should help a lot.
Primal eating in a nutshell: If you are hungry, eat Primal food until you are satisfied (not stuffed). Then stop. Wait until you're hungry again. Repeat.

Yeah I know what I was doing to make such bad levels. What I wanted was a baseline to go from. So am on the straight and narrow now for the next 6 weeks and will post the next series of results.
