  • How many people are Primal to lose weight?

I am new to the PB, and am curious about how many people got into it for weightloss?

I just notice that a lot of the posts in the nutrition forum are regarding the issue of losing weight and trying to lose it quickly.

doing it hardcore for weight loss now, plan to expand my eating when my goal is reach. But still no grains . lost 29lbs in 8 weeks (today)all i need is another 15. I am of course a profesional dieter & recovering carbaholic. This is hands down the best plan for me.

What lead me here was my desire to put on muscle mass. I don't really have weight to loose, but I would be ok with shedding some fat and showing off some muscle. Skinny fat, as it were.

i did, but I only wanted to lose about 5kg which I have successfully. The feeling of being able to wear my clothes comfortably again is awesome and I dont see myself going back to my old ways of eating bread pasta and rice all the time at all (but I do subscribe to the 80/20 rule)

          not me

I started eating primal to just plain be healthier. 2 yrs and no OTC or prescription meds, I would say it's working out perfect. I'm @ the same weight as when i started and probably the same bf% or slightly higher. The higher bf% is not from being primal, but more that pre primal I was working to maintain a low bf% that was not natural for me, so now at my no effort equilibrium I'm @ a slightly higher bf%.

I started it for weight loss but the more I read my end goal is changing from just wanting to weight x lbs to wanting to be as fit and healthy as I possibly can be which will mean following PB for life.

That's how I started, had about 125lbs to lose. 40lbs. in and I'm finding all sorts of other reasons to continue. Like preparing for the Primal Apocalypse.

What led me here was a desire to find a way of eating that didn't make me sick, as I am gluten intolerant. Weight loss was a secondary, though no less important goal.

I fell to paleo/primal for weight loss in a healthy way. I had hit a weight last year that I was definitely not happy about. After typically being "healthy" and usually at the gym, I researched things with a bit more open mind. With the addition of 2 boys (now 3 and 1), time at the gym isn't endless...so I looked first to correct my eating in a way that would be sustainable (my weight regimen has been focused on HIT for awhile now, with things mixed in). After talking with my cousin who is a trainer, I felt that this type of lifestyle made sense for what I want and what I believe. So far so good. I'm down about 20 lbs and looking to get down 10 more for vanity purposes. The 20 I lost was definitely necessary. I'm down to about 14-15% bf now, but would like to maintain around 10%. So best of luck with PB, you'll go great

I'm here for weight loss. It's so encouraging, too because it's been an effortless 2 weeks since I started and I've lost 7.2 lbs.
