  • Best booze for imbibing?

Yeah, I know, I know....there's no such thing as "best" when there's no moderation. That being said, I've got pit tickets to the Iron Maiden show tonight & I'll have a few hours to kill in the Woodlands before the concert. I fully expect inebriation. Sooooo, if that's the case, what should I be drinking? Copious amounts of light beer, red wine, vodka, scotch??? Let's hear it from the braintrust....

Well, rye, rum, vodka and gin have no carbs, so I'd say those with club soda or tonic water, some lime... maybe even a rye and diet coke? Sweetener, but it's not the end of the world.

if you have an IBS or IBD I'd stay away from club soda or any carbonated beverage. They cause a ton of pain for me.

I'm curious on how to brew an alcohol from Sassafras (love root beer) and a ginger liquor, so it at least helps with digestion.

I like merlot though. Kind of odd ordering it at a bar though.

I'll probably go vodka tonic, but we'll see what says everyone else...

I love gin and tonic with lime. Not carb free (the tonic has some carbs, as does the lime) but this weekend I'm gonna try it with sparkling water...

Vodka and club soda with lime. Iron Maiden takes me back to high school, where I would have probably downed it straight from the bottle just to get the buzz. Hope you have a blast in the pit! Drink, get drunk and just enjoy the hell out of the show!!!

I'm partial to Scotch. Either on the rocks or straight up. As little as I drink these days, I'd go for a single malt that I can actually afford.

Beer doesn't do anything for me these days (well, it would do something to me if I drank it) but it's lost it's appeal. If I did drink a beer it would have to be some really really good beer though. I want absolutely nothing to do with domestic beers especially the lite and low carb ones. I'm guessing that inside the Maiden show that good Scotch won't be on tap.

Gin martinis. Not very metal but really good and gets you sideways fast.

Crown Royal goes well with Maiden.

If you stick the small bottle down the front of your pants...you can just say it is a codpiece...

I looked at Mark's list of "best to worst" boozes & I think I'll work my way down the list. I believe I'll avoid beer, first & foremost. But I'll have some good red wine to start (likely pinot noir), then a little single malt scotch & lastly some vodka & tonic. Should make for an interesting evening.

I don't really drink to the point of being drunk anymore, but if I need something to sip on these are my go-to drinks:

                            NorCal Margarita (Robb Wolf's brain-child)
Gin on the rocks with a squeeze of lime
A dry red wine (not so much a bar or concert drink, but great at the end of a long day or with a good, thick, medium-rare steak)

YES! My favorite red, by far.
