  • Journal - New and Groking it!

    Hello

Why did I never look in to Primal before? I am on day three and loving it so far. I have about 30 pounds to lose (already lost 30 pounds on SW diet).

I am starting this journal to record what I'm eating etc. please do let me know if I make any mistakes as I'm still learning!

B - slice of melon, Parma ham and half ball organic buffalo mozzarella.
L - baked figs with goats cheese on bed of salad drizzled with extra Virgin olive oil and lemon juice.
D - baked salmon with fennel seeds and crushed chillies sprinkling served with spicy mango salsa (chopped mango, red onion, red chilli, cucumber and coriander).

Aiming for 5 hours gentle cardio per week and one or two kettlebell workouts.

    Welcome!

Sounds delish but you might try more protein and less dairy for weight (fat) loss. Experiment.

        Hi Groking!
Thought I'd say Hi as you sound very similar to me. I'm a 39 year old mum of 2 and on day 2 of primal living. Similar to you, I started at 207lb. I'm down to 180 lb after low fat eating and am hoping to get down to 140 lb with Primal.
So far it's been quite easy, no hunger and no sugar cravings. Here's hoping!
        All the best x

          Hi WR

We really do seem to be following the same path!

When I did Atkins, I was often craving but that's because I didn't cut out artificial sweeteners I think...

Please keep in touch and let me know how you're doing! I'm a Brit by the way - I just live in Switzerland now.

          :-)

            Hi Groking

Yes, it would be nice to stay in touch. I'm interested to know how you get on and it may help to keep me on track too.

So far I'm doing ok I think. I feel like I've eaten a lot today but I think I'm eating the right things. Mostly salad and meat and eggs. I bought some almond milk to try in my coffee but later realised it was full of sugar and low in fat. I guess we have a lot to learn! I'd never thought about sweeteners and cravings - I shall definitely keep away from those. It's the sugar cravings that always make my diets fail.

How's it going with you? Have you any carb flu signs yet? I'm ok so far.

I'll add you to my friend list if that's ok so I can keep track on you - so no cheating now!

            WR x

Hi, glad to hear you're getting on well. I remember when I did Atkins many years ago that I didn't think of carbs/sugar in lime cordial and also ketchup!!!

Definitely keep in touch! Do you have your own diary?

              X

                Morning!

First week of Primal completed and still loving it! No cheats!!

I have been using an app to track my food to make sure I'm not eating anything not Primal friendly without realising it. So far - so good!

I've tried to not rely on cheese so much and that seems to be easy enough.

Favourite lunch at the moment is grilled chicken, bacon and avocado salad. Yum!!

I've also made some soups etc. too.

I exceeded the 5 hours gentle cardio goal so just need to work in two kettlebell workouts this week. I'm already feeling much healthier and fitter.

I will weigh in on Wednesday (my usual weigh in day)

Hubby has decided not to do it which is a shame but never mind.
How are you getting on? Have you weighed yourself? X

Just been on holiday for a week and had very worrying week as my Dad had a stroke whilst there.

Easily stuck to primal all week. Maybe too much wine but no cheats.

Just tried a new recipe and it was awesome. Baked egg and avocado with a sprinkle of cheddar and served with bacon and cherry tomatoes.
