        Kept waking up today and couldn't force myself to sleep past 2 o'clock, but I still feel pretty well rested.

            D: lamb shoulder steak cooked in vegetable stock with onions and mushrooms, kale, sweet potato fries, and allspice poached pears (1900)

            Had a stressful day, so I really treated myself with dinner. And it was delicious. Though, I wish I had been more patient and let the steak braise longer. But it was definitely a nice end to the day.

            • I think I'm starting to feel ready to wind down my WholeAdventure. I think 60 days is a pretty big achievement, even though my brain keeps jonesing for a 100 day stretch because I'm constantly in "challenge accepted" mode.

              The only reason I can really think of to reintroduce dairy is "because I can". I don't feel completely deprived of previously enjoyed foods, but I do miss the convenience of things like butter.

              I certainly won't consume dairy in the vast quantities I had been before. Buying a block of cheese seems so... weird, now.
              I might switch back to heavy whipping cream for my coffee at the end of my WholeWhatever. A little cheese a few times a week (smoked gouda in appropriate quantities), maybe. Panna cotta in lieu of ice cream.

              I have a fairly strict food budget, so it's easy to stay essentially compliant because my three weaknesses (alcohol, chocolate, and dairy) are pricey. So I may only be able to indulge in one a week, which is a good external limitation.

              But really, it's the sugar that got so out of hand. My "20%" was out of control with a near daily ice cream bar habit. As much as I loved a regional chocolate bar, I'll probably stick to 80% or higher.

              And I hope it goes without saying I won't be reintroducing grains. :P

              Anyways, I'll keep musing and I may just keep going as is. It's second-nature to me and I'm quite comfortable, but we'll see on Day 60.

                    Yeah, thanks! I saw myself in a large mirror today and there's a definite difference! I'm still wavering on whether or not I'll reintroduce dairy at day 60 or not. We'll see!
