  • The Next Chapter

It has been two years since I started the Primal Lifestyle. I have a pretty good handle on the foods now and have quite a bit of activity in my daily life. My weight, while not where I want it to be yet, is far better than where I started. My focus now is to tone up, lean out and LGIC. I'm pretty sure I'll never reach LGN ever again, but I want to be comfortable in my own skin.

As of right now, I am a pretty active, young 54 who is 5'10" and 178 pounds. I started this year at 192 so there is some progress. Medications and wacky hormones have been causing me difficulties for the last four years but there are signs that things are straightening themselves out.

Those of you have followed me in the past, thanks for being with me through this next chapter. Those of you who have just joined me, welcome to my life!

Thank you for being first!! It was getting lonely in here.

I am going to mix things up in regards to exercise. For me, if i can't make it fun, it isn't going to happen. The dogs and I get out on logging road rambles at least three times a week. These are fondly known as RPR's because i always ask the dogs if they want to RUN PUPPY, RUN!! In order to keep them from getting too excited we've abbreviated it to RPR. I'll be relearning jumprope, might try skipping up and down the driveway. I wonder if there is a high school stadium close with lots of stairs that I can trudge up and down a couple of times a week?

Good plan! I have jump rope on my shopping list! High school stadiums are excellent for trudging the closest one to us is 2 miles away.

I went shopping for a sport bra yesterday. Can't have the girls bouncing around when I jump rope. Talk about an exercise in frustration! I tried on 20 different ones at two different stores and did not find one that gave proper support. I did finally find the perfect one....at Goodwill. Sill had the tags on it, too. Glad that is behind me. No more excuses for avoiding the jumprope.

The flubber has got to go. Sure, I can disguise it with clothing but it is still there and it bugs me. Slowly but surely it is dwindling. There are parts of me that look like a deflating balloon, even spots I didn't think had fat on them. Just shows you what I know. I can really feel my ribs again and would love to feel my hipbones again. I tried to attempt a pullup yesterday and might have moved an inch from starting position.

Unconventional exercise. That is what I want. That is what I will do.

My go-to grocery store doesn't have any "fitness" quality jump ropes - just the ones in the toy department. So - I need to decide if I'm going to order one online or just drive to a store and get one. I will have to drive across town. But, in Salem - that only means about 8 miles.

                    Maybe tomorrow after work.

Hopscotch has the advantage of balance training, too...

Of course, I am no where near ready for that part of it! LOL

I found my jumprope at Goodwill but Ross had a pretty good selection, too. It would have been great entertainment to watch me yesterday. Speed jumping is a definite higher paced workout but I need to be proficient in the slower things, too. When I flubbed up, I would move to a different spot in the driveway. Surely I wasn't the reason the jumps failed. Must have been the driveways fault! NOT. I was able to do more of the speed jumps than the day before and a few more regular jumps. I do well with my right leg forward but I am working towards alternating between right and left when I jump. There is a knack to it, for sure.

I wonder if I can chalk a hopscotch in the garage? It would be fun and funny and I can use the balance training!

I'm getting plenty of balancing work when I do Barre3 so I'm going to pass on the hopscotch Hubby might think I've gone a bit loopy if he comes home to chalk drawings in the driveway I'll be going to find a jump rope after work today.

Woohoo! Someone commented today on how much thinner I've gotten. Finally!

Hey, Tomi, can you link to the Barre 3 workout for me? I am doing something wrong.

                              Here you go.......

                              Barre3

I went to Target today and found an awesome jump rope with weighted handles. I made 6 jumps without messing up - but I started off with the sissy kind - not speed jumping. I'll work up to that. Besides, I didn't have on a sports bra and I didn't want to damage anything!

Yeah on the thinner comment! Can NEVER have too many of those!
