Thanks for the e-hug Joanie. I totally agree. It was just New Years Eve about three or four weeks ago wasn't it?

Who says back fat is a bad thing? Maybe on a hairy guy at the beach, but not on a crab.

I know, I don't know why that one food makes me gag. It's not a mental thing. I've been served things that had a tiny bit in it when I didn't know, and as soon as I went to swallow, my gag reflex kicked in.

Also, um what is ass sausage? LMAO

            • Wow the beginning of the story was creepy and really drew me in and I loved the happy ending. I'm giving this story 4 1/2 Grok spears! It would have been 5 until I read the part about the scallops!

I was watching an old episode of Iron Chef America, and the secret ingredient was Mangalitsa Pig. The chefs talked a bunch about the fat content of the pig and how wonderful it was as an ingredient, etc. So, I googled it.

                          From Wikipedia:

But the reason I fell in love:

Are those the cutest faces ever? And they have curly hair like sheep. And some of them are redheads. What’s not to love? I’m sure they must taste awesome.

Maybe as the demand for lard goes back up, these will be bred more and maybe stop being rare. If we eat them, they’ll be bred. So to anyone who is still in doubt about the ethics of eating meat, please note that the reasons so many livestock breeds are endangered or already extinct is because the demand for their meat went down.

I watched Paula Deen make lobster shooters. I’ve been timid to try to make my own lobster because it’s just such a luxury that I was afraid I’d ruin it. But after watching her do those shooters, I think I might just grow a pair and try to make my own.

She used lobster tails. She snipped the shell on the belly side. Then she poached them in a pot of butter. OMG. I think my panties got a little moist when she did that. Then she just put a nice sized piece of the lobster in a shot glass, poured just about a teaspoon of butter on top, then a little squirt of lemon.

Had pretty much of a sloth day today. I had slept in a weird position and woke up with neck and head pain. Not a great way to start the day. Ibuprofen and aspirin took care of it.

May we all dream of lobster poached in butter tonight.
yeah, scalding and scraping the hair ofn those hides would be a HUGE PITA...... unless you shaved them I guess.... gives a whole new meaning to the term shaved pork butt....

                            LOL!

Here's the makings for the best ham 'n' brie ever: Mangalitsa Hams from Johston County Hams. For a mere $22/lb, you too can serve up a ham sandwich your friends will never forget!

Of course, because I'm so totally anal about this kind of stuff, I'd deduct the bone weight and find the new per pound price. Still and all, I'm on a quest to try new things this year...
