    • So many LotR fans I have seen the extended edition of each film so many frickin' times. We just got through watching them again recently, forgot how much I love them. First time in blu-ray too!

      • Speaking of Fight Club... Heh... I was thinking of putting that under favorite films adapted from books because I really did like the film. However, it wasn't very true to the book, so I left it off. Such dilemmas.

Also, I'm sure you were a very pretty kitty Zach...

P.S. im surprised you would want to drink with HST, i think hed be awfully intimidating and very hard to understand. You would of probably had to drink in his kitchen as well which adds to the intimidation factor? Are you a big fan of him/his writing? I think i have read everything except Curse of Lono but i read his stuff before you could find anything easily on the net so i suppose ill have to track it down one of these days.

Intimidated - not at all. Amused - highly. I am comfortable (accustomed to?) being around people like him. What do you find intimidating? I have read some of his works but I've probably read more about him than of his actual writings, which I should remedy... I enjoy his philosophies and the way he lived his life.

            • Umm. I guess now's the time to mention: I hated LOTR. The second one was alright, but the third one was so fucking cheesy and "Hollywood". Jackson made the Hobbits homoerotic, and ruined all the gentleness in the friendship between Sam and Frodo. That moment when Sam takes Frodo on his back is SO beautiful in the books it made me cry. In the film you've got the euphoric music, and Sam's overextended delivery. Made me want to puke

On the other hand - LOOOOOVE "Fight Club". Haven't read the book yet!

Zach and Ombat - I saw a TV doco with Hunter S. Thomspon in it. He didn't seem that intimidating. If either of you guys want it I can email it to you - I have the file.

Badger, I also failed to read "The Waves"...

Nameless, I wouldn't worry too much about the potential heartburn with Aloe Vera. I'm gonna stop taking it cos it's giving me the shits, but if you're constipated it would probably work really well! I'm just using a juice from Biovea. Didn't really shop around.

              Bloating and other stuff...

So, sad news. Fruit bloats me Well, pretty much everything bloats me, but tonight I had my dinner (1 galia melon, .5kgs cherries and a tiny bit of goats cheese) and I got my pregnant stance up. Obviously I can't post about it on MDA because everyone will say "I-told-you-so", I can't post on RP forum because I should only be drinking pulp-free OJ () so, where did I go? You guessed it (or maybe you didn't) - 30 bananas a day!

I actually found a good article giving an overview on bloating. Having read it, I have the feeling that mine is caused by gas, not water retention. I'll spare you the reasons why I've come to this conclusion

I've decided I might try gripe water (yeah, the thing for colicy babies). What else could I do?
"I think the basic anti-aging diet is also the best diet for prevention and treatment of diabetes, scleroderma, and the various "connective tissue diseases." This would emphasize high protein, low unsaturated fats, low iron, and high antioxidant consumption, with a moderate or low starch consumption.

In practice, this means that a major part of the diet should be milk, cheese, eggs, shellfish, fruits and coconut oil, with vitamin E and salt as the safest supplements."

And yes to all animal stories. I watched one where a man had to give up a pack of wolves he had looked after. It almost killed me D:

Pretty simple really... I was a medic on a submarine during my Navy career....

                        • I mean, if I don't take mag citrate, I'm constipated, so if I swap it for aloe, maybe it'll be a good choice. What I'm worried about is that aloe is lumped with senna (cascara sagrada) for how it works, I think. Senna gave me severe abdominal pains and was not "gentle" in its efficacy. I know Peat is all for it, but I am not.

That bloating page is confusing. Doesn't that indicate that a 30BaD diet would cause a lot of digestive problems...? And that's from the 30BaD site...? I don't get it.

Haha, yeah I read on the site that "on this diet, it's normal to go to bed fat, and wake up flat!"

                            Umm. No thanks.

I'd go with aloe vera. It's amazing used topically, so how bad can it be if you ingest it? I've read that it's good for reducing muscle inflammation after workouts. It's useless for me right now, since I'm 'going' like 7 times a day, but if I was constipated I would definitely give it a go! Mg never worked for me...
