But I'm trying not to be too insane, you know. I'm going to focus on eating fruits, veggies, potatoes, and lean cuts of meat. And not worry too much about the intramuscular fat in lamb or liver or lamb liver, mmmm. I've also gone back to weighing every single bite of food, as of today.
Prawns, mussles, calamari (it's shell fish, right?!) They're pretty easy to cook actually. Oysters and crab are also options but I haven't sourced them here yet.

Honestly, eat salmon if you like it. It's still pretty low fat, and it may be high in PUFA but I wouldn't worry about it. I didn't eat it for ages then had it twice in a row. It's no biggie.

I don't know about weighing food... sounds like a recipe for neurosis! Never went down that route, actually...

Good point! Woah, how do you get so little fat?! We eat pretty similarly. Maybe I'm getting less than I think...

This would emphasize high protein, low unsaturated fats, low iron, and high antioxidant consumption, with a moderate or low starch consumption.

In practice, this means that a major part of the diet should be milk, cheese, eggs, shellfish, fruits and coconut oil, with vitamin E and salt as the safest supplements."

    • When I don't eat gouda, my fat plummets a lot since I drink skim milk and eat low fat cottage cheese or not at all. Rest is just protein from gelatin, and lots of fruit. Most days I'm at like 30-60g though, oysters, eggs, and the like. Also, my fat cals may be higher than that sometimes too, but still make up a small portion of my total cals cause I eat a lot

      • Hi Yoga, I'm so happy that you are happy. Re fat. I usually don't want more than 40g a day.......unless ice cream starts screaming at me. It won't be summertime without it. And I can eat ice cream, YaY!!
I had four carrots today so far.

        Interesting re. fat cycling

        • I cook everything with coconut oil to get my fats up. Love this article about it and how it leans you out. That has totally been my experience. The more I eat the skinnier I get. I like refined but also use unrefined in certain things like rice and sweet potatoes - the coconut flavor is a nice addition to the taste.

I know... it's pretty amazing to be able to eat ice cream guilt-free! I found this amazing brand that only has five ingredients - it's the bomb.

            I had three carrots

I think I'm going to start taking tea spoons of coconut oil every few days again... I did it a while back and my skin was sooo soft!

Also LV, how long have you been doing the massage for?

I've only been doing it every other day for about three weeks. Like I said, I do it in the morning. I still do it along with the video because I can't remember it all. I think it would be amazing to have someone else do it to me! I might have to ask my husband. He loves doing stuff like that, fortunately

                    Recipe for disaster...

Today I've literally gotten 30 phone calls and text messages from him today, begging me to meet him, and making raunchy comments about yoga porn...

                    I never learn.
Seriously cracked up at this. Sorry! D:

I'm glad everything with your hunger worked out. I was going to suggest just what Di said I would have suggested and so it was! *is magnificently prophetic*

Wow, three weeks isn't much time to see improvements! I must give it a go.

I meant to ask you as well LV - what brand of Proesterone cream are you using?

Is it bad that I'm going to meet this guy tomorrow to get pics taken? He was very persistent... and I need pics

Yeah, we've spoken a lot about the cyclical hunger. I'm not sure, but I'm just going with it for now...

                      Some good news!

I had a horrible smear test with my male doctor today, where he poked around before finally deciding to refer me to a gynae-endo. YAY! (to the referral part). It's such a relief knowing that I'll have a proper specialist over here that I can talk to about all this. Much as I trust the research that we all do, I need to go to an expert.

It transpires as well that they made a mistake with my cortisol result, and it is still high. So really, none of my bloods improved, apart from my cholesterol. And we all know how important cholesterol is Still, I feel great, so I'm not too worried. Things will be fine, and it'll be great to talk to an endo.

                      • The prog cream I have now is called Natural Woman. I know...the name makes you want to cringe...hehe. I bought it because it was paraben and cruelty free and was a small jar. I had never used it before so didn't want to invest in a large amount in case there was no result. It says on it, "Apply when needed". Needed for what?? I asked the guy at the store, "So....what does that mean? How do I know when to I need to apply it?" and he said, "I have no idea what that means either" ;P So I just slather it on. I want to get the oil that you have. I haven't seen where to buy it!

IT's so funny you say that about the fat soluble vits... yesterday I ate carrots for the first time in months!!! I got a craving, so I made Peat's salad. (Figure I'm going to start on that again - my gut feels in much better shape these days.) Then I washed it down with a ton of fatty cheese and ice cream!

And LOL - I totally thought of the fat cycling I've been so lazy about my diet because it's too easy on Peat, but I'm going to make a bit more effort now. I reckon I need a lot of fat once in a while.
I've been reading on and off, trying to keep up as I can. I'm still trying to figure things out. I guess that's never-ending for most of us on here! haha

I had to stop the vitex. I've had horrible pimples pop up on my chest and over the past few weeks my upper back. It started on my chest around the time I started taking vitex and just got worse recently. I'm going to see if it clears up in within a couple of weeks... I don't know what else it could be. I had wondered if it lowered my estrogen even more. I have low estrogen and slightly low progesterone and testosterone is normal.

Have you thought about if your diet might change when fall and winter get here? Do you think when it's cold you will want to cook some warm meals?

I'm sorry to hear that about the Vitex!!! That's such a pity. I didn't think that it would lower oestrogen as the way it works is by stimulating the pituitary gland to release luteinizing hormone (which normalises progesterone and prolactin) - but, I looked into it more and apparently it can decrease oestrogen levels in women whose levels are high. Would that would cause pimples though? Is it possible that the pimples were caused by the hormones getting boosted? So hard to know.

How long did you take it for? I use it interchangeably with Peats Prog oil - maybe you could try this?

I'm getting a bit more of an urge to prepare food now I made the carrot salad three days in a row, which is hardlycooking, but before this the most I did was throw burgers under the grill or pour maple syrup into my cottage cheese We'll have to see...
